Prosciutto di Modena DOP, an excellence of the land of Modena, is designated with the DOP certification (Protected Designation of Origin since) 1996. This sweet prosciutto (ham) is produced only by 9 producers situated along the Panaro river. The special microclimate of the valley and the use of certificated Italian pork meat are the guarantee for a high quality product. The strict Disciplinary of production, together with the traditional and artisan production, give special flavours and texture to this ham. With an intense pink colour, the right amount of fat and full of aromas, Prosciutto di Modena DOP pleasantly melts in the mouth. It is traditionally served with typical foods, such as gnocco and tigelle and it perfectly matches with a glass of Lambrusco DOP.
