The wine producer San Polo is part of a mini village developed around a former convent dates back to the seventeenth century on the river Guerro by the ancient town of Castelvetro at the foothills of the Appennino.
The countryside restaurant is located in a bucolic setting with rustic elegance and offers exclusively typical specialities, accompanied by own production wine Lambrusco Grasparossa DOC, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and Honey from the hills.
The traditional recipes guests can taste depend on
seasonal growth and availability of the products. This means that all the sauces and
dressings, fruits and dishes like ricotta tortelloni, Parmigiano Reggiano and fresh
pasta vary according to the period of the year. The dishes are accompanied by the
famous tigelle (or crescentine), served with garlic lard and many local cured meats
including Modena ham. Then guests can savour the ancient dessert such as bensone
and cherry tart.
Every Thursday and Friday it is possible to taste the local speciality called borlenghi.
From Thursday to Saturday evening. On Sunday and festivities for lunch and dinner.
