Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro D.O.P

Wines in Castelvetro di Modena

Fruit of the wild vine tamed over the centuries, there is no doubt that Lambrusco has deservedly earned a place of honor among national and international markets around the world. Thanks to the work of many producers, this wine was already able to obtain the mention DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) in 1970, which then recently became DOP (Protected Designation of Origin).

Among the three types Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC, Lambrusco Salamino Santa Croce DOC, and Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC, the latter is the one with the fullest and most consistent body. Pleasantly sparkling, this wine has a beautiful intense purple-red color, purple reflections, and persistent foam. The taste is savory, harmonious, pleasantly vinous, with balanced acidity, slightly fruity, and with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste.

The dry type goes perfectly with first courses with meat sauces, baked pasta, roasts, cold cuts, cheeses, and more generally with all the first courses typical of the Emilian cuisine. The amiable type has an intense, markedly fruity, vinous, fragrant aroma and goes perfectly with dry pastries and typical Modena sweets.
