The wine producer San Polo is part of a mini village developed around a former convent dates back to the seventeenth century on the river Guerro by the ancient town of Castelvetro at the foothills of the Appennino. Grandfather Giuseppe started it all in 1938 and from that day on the company has been producing high-quality wines. Today the company is run by grandson Paolo, who has converted the entire agricultural production into organic farming, guaranteed and certified by ICEA (Environmental and Ethical Certification Institute), in respect of the ancient authenticity. Paolo recently opened the agritourism, reinventing the former convent into a series of mini independent apartments, in order to offer guests a charming and peaceful stay in an atmosphere of the past. The restaurant offers a simple but tasty menu of traditional Emilian cuisine, paired with the wines of the vineyards of the farm.
